Dashboard

The Barvol dashboard is your daily command center. It shows you a real-time summary of everything happening across your company — from open tasks and upcoming milestones to recent customer activity and developer output.

Accessing the dashboard

The dashboard is the first screen you see when you open Barvol. You can return to it at any time by clicking the Barvol logo in the top-left of the sidebar or navigating directly to app.barvol.online/dashboard.

What the dashboard shows

The dashboard is organized into cards, each representing a slice of your company's activity. What you see depends on which integrations you have connected and which features you are using.

  • Active tasks — tasks due today or overdue, pulled from your task list. Clicking a task opens it directly.
  • Goal progress — a summary of your active goals and their most recent milestone status.
  • Recent decisions — the last few decisions you logged, with their rationale.
  • Developer activity — recent commits and pull requests from your GitHub integration, grouped by repository.
  • Customer signals — new feedback items and CRM contacts that have recent activity.
  • Calendar preview — your next three events for today, pulled from Google Calendar.
  • AI insight — a daily note generated by Barvol's AI that highlights something worth your attention, based on patterns in your data.

Customizing the dashboard

You can rearrange the dashboard cards by dragging them to a new position. To hide a card, click the three-dot menu on the card and select "Hide." Hidden cards can be re-enabled from Dashboard Settings, which appears as a gear icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

The dashboard layout is saved per user, not per workspace. Each team member can configure their own view independently.

The AI daily insight

Each morning, Barvol's AI scans the previous 24 hours of data across all your connected integrations and generates a short insight. This might be a note about a customer who has been unusually quiet, a sprint velocity change, an upcoming deadline, or a pattern in your journal entries.

The insight is not a report — it is a starting point for a question. Click "Ask about this" to open the AI chat pre-loaded with the insight as context.

Dashboard refresh rate

Dashboard cards update when you load the page. Integration data is synced in the background every 15 minutes for active workspaces. If you need fresh data immediately, click the refresh icon in the top-right of any card, or use the global refresh button in the header.

TipKeep your dashboard focused. If you have more than 8 cards visible, consider hiding the ones you check less than once a week so the high-priority signals stay prominent.
