Getting Started with Barvol
Barvol is an AI operating system for founders. It connects your tools, surfaces patterns in your business, and helps you make better decisions — faster. This guide covers everything you need to go from sign-up to a fully connected workspace.
What Barvol does
Most founders juggle Slack, email, GitHub, Linear, Notion, and a dozen spreadsheets just to understand what is happening in their company. Barvol consolidates that signal into a single workspace and applies AI to help you see what matters.
At its core, Barvol has three layers:
- Data layer — integrations that pull in your operational data from the tools your team already uses
- Intelligence layer — AI that reads your context, answers questions, writes weekly syntheses, and surfaces risks
- Action layer — tasks, goals, decisions, and CRM entries that let you act on what you learn
Step 1: Create an account
Go to app.barvol.online and sign up with your email. After verifying your address, you will be directed to the onboarding wizard. See Creating an Account for a full walkthrough.
Step 2: Complete onboarding
The onboarding wizard asks a few questions about your company — industry, stage, team size — and walks you through your first integration. Completing onboarding takes about 5 minutes and dramatically improves the quality of Barvol's AI responses because the AI has context about your specific business.
Step 3: Connect your tools
Barvol's value compounds with every integration you connect. The recommended starting set for most founders is:
- Gmail — for customer communication context
- Google Calendar — to understand how you spend your time
- GitHub — to track development velocity
- Slack — to surface team conversations
You can connect integrations at any time from the Integrations page.
Step 4: Set your first goal
Navigate to Goals and create one company-level goal. Give it a clear outcome, a target date, and at least one milestone. Once your goal exists, Barvol can track progress toward it automatically as data flows in from your integrations.
Step 5: Ask Barvol something
Open the Ask Barvol chat and ask a real question about your business — "What did we ship last week?" or "Which customers have been quiet for more than 30 days?" Barvol answers from your actual data, not generic advice.
