Customer Feedback
The Customer Feedback module is where you capture, organize, and analyze input from your users. It combines manual entry with AI-assisted synthesis so you always have a clear picture of what your customers are saying and what it means for your product.
Adding feedback
Feedback can be added in several ways:
- Manual entry — click "New Feedback" and paste or type what a customer said. Include the source (call, email, survey, support ticket) and tag the customer from your CRM if they exist.
- Via Ask Barvol — tell the AI "Log feedback from Sarah at Acme: she said the onboarding takes too long and she almost churned." The AI creates the feedback entry and links it to the CRM contact.
- From Gmail — if you have Gmail connected, Barvol can surface emails that appear to contain feedback and prompt you to log them with one click.
Feedback fields
Each feedback entry captures:
- Content — the verbatim or paraphrased feedback text.
- Source — where the feedback came from (call, email, support, social, survey, other).
- Contact — the CRM contact associated with this feedback, if applicable.
- Sentiment — Positive, Neutral, or Negative. Set manually or suggested by the AI.
- Theme — a category tag like Onboarding, Pricing, Performance, Feature Request, or Bug Report. You can add custom themes.
- Linked goal — optional. Connect feedback to a goal if it is relevant to something you are actively working on.
AI synthesis
The Feedback page includes an AI Synthesis panel. Click "Synthesize" to generate a summary of recent feedback across all themes and sentiments. The synthesis tells you:
- What customers are most commonly asking for
- What is generating the most negative sentiment
- Which feedback themes are increasing in frequency
- What specific features or experiences are being mentioned most
You can filter the synthesis by time range (last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days) and by customer segment or plan type if you have that data in your CRM.
Using feedback in planning
Before a product planning session, run an AI synthesis on the past 30 days of feedback and ask Barvol: "Based on recent customer feedback, what should we prioritize next sprint?" The AI will generate a prioritized list grounded in what your customers have actually said, not what you assume they want.
Feedback trends
The Trends tab on the Feedback page shows a chart of feedback volume and sentiment over time. It is useful for spotting whether a product change triggered an increase in a particular type of feedback — for example, a pricing change that generated a spike in negative sentiment over a two-week window.
